Events, Bar and Restaurant Staff

£6.95-£7.20 per hour

We host an endless range of functions and events, including weddings, operate a bustling bar and coffee shop and offer a unique dining experience in our restaurant.  We are looking for vibrant personalities to join our team and add flavour, flair and fun to everything we do.

Experience is preferred but not essential, training will be provided.  Our main requirements are that you are a good communicator, presentable and willing to meet and exceed the high standards of service we expect of our team.

Hours are offered on a casual basis and will include evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working.  As the post holder will be required to serve alcohol applicants must be over 18 years of age.

F/T TECHNICIAN

Salary commensurate will skills and experience

We are delighted to offer a great career development opportunity with our technical team.

The post will be responsible for all technical and associated aspects of stage and events presentation, ensuring high standards of professionalism and presentation are maintained at all times. The post holder will also assist the maintenance team with basic maintenance tasks and act as Duty Stage Manager when required.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of gets ins and get outs, building sets, lighting rigs, sound systems, hemp flying and technical health and safety.  An understanding of fire safety, security requirements and event planning is desirable.  Excellent verbal communication and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and train a team.  The role includes lone and assisted manual handling tasks.

A key requirement of this role is a genuine desire to contribute positively and pro-actively to Southend Theatres’ technical department.
Hours will be rostered according to business requirements and will average 40 per week, usually 5 days out of 7, and will include evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working.
